Children's Program

goal is to provide information for children and their parents about
domestic violence. Another goal is to provide information to assist
in gaining skills to help prevent physical or sexual abuse from
occurring.

Advocacy
for Seniors
The adult advocacy
program also serves the special needs of the elderly. This older
population faces several different kinds of abuse and neglect. Safehouse
encourages citizens to report all cases involving abuse of the elderly.
Often times, the elderly may not be physically or mentally able
to come forward, and a special need exists to provide a helping
hand to senior members of the population.
Safehouse provides
advocacy and support services for the elderly, including crisis
intervention and assistance with the court system. In addition,
our staff works to link the elderly with appropriate social service
agencies, counseling, legal services and other organizations geared
to meet the needs of seniors.
